Min 5 years of experience
CAD $56,000 – $66,000 per year ($27 per hour)
Transitional Work Permit to Permanent Resident VISA

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
• Supervise apprentices and other construction workers
• Prepare cost estimates for clients.
• Experience with millwork, cabinet, mirror and railing installation, feature walls of various materials and details, deficiency work and other finishing tasks
• Experience with: drywall repair including mudding and taping, painting and paint touch ups, and a variety of final deficiency work
EMPLOYER REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience in most finish carpentry techniques including:
• Installation of wardrobes and cabinets / of quartz countertops
• fit and installation of door and windows including hardware/ of millwork including trim, moldings and casings / of tile or quartz backsplashes and surrounds / of custom handrails and guardrails
• Experience working in concrete and/or wood framed buildings
• WHMIS 2015 certification
• Will need to have own transportation to and from work
• Previous experience in drywall installation including mudding and taping an asset
• Previous experience in flooring installation an asset
• Previous experience conducting small repairs (deficiency work) to flooring, walls and ceilings an asset
• Good verbal and written communication skills
