CAD $83,000 – $90,000 per year ($40 per hour)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Check bulldozers, cranes, graders and other heavy construction equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
• Service attachments and working tools such as winches and side booms
EMPLOYER REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 5 years of experience working on Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere or Hitachi heavy equipment
• Must obtain Alberta license upon arrival to become journeyman
• Diagnosing Equipment
• Valid driver’s license
• Skilled in the operation of variety of tools and equipment used in the repair of heavy equipment
• Ability to analyze and repair mechanical failures
